EAOP Department Staff and Director with awards

At the U.C.S.B. Student Affairs Spring Divisional Meeting, the EAOP Department was recognized with The William J. Villa Award for its commitment to student services. At the award reception, Maria and Patricia Martin, twin sisters, shared the impact EAOP played in their educational careers. Both twins attended South High School, graduated from U.C.S.B. and were headed off to post graduate studies. EAOP serves thousands of students with our dual service model that provides college and financial aid workshops for all students and intensive cohort services for EAOP enrolled students. The following month, Britt Ortiz, Director of the Early Academic Outreach Program received the Winston Doby Impact Award at the College Access and Preparation Forum from UCOP Office of Diversity and Engagement. Mr. Ortiz has made it a lifelong mission to increase access to higher education for low-income and first generation college students.
